Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of safety procedures and protocols for a single mega project or multiple projects within a division.
  • Develop and maintain a strong safety culture within the organization, ensuring that all employees understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that safety is integrated into all aspects of project planning and execution.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Investigate and report on all incidents and near-misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on safety-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain safety metrics and reporting to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
  • 20+ years of experience in construction or safety, with 10+ years of experience managing construction or safety teams.
  • Experience in developing and implementing health and safety initiatives, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate safety policies and procedures to employees and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with safety certifications and regulatory compliance.
