Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled District Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Flatiron Construction Corp. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in health and safety management, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and implementation of safety procedures and protocols for a single mega project or multiple projects within a division.
- Develop and maintain a strong safety culture within the organization, ensuring that all employees understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that safety is integrated into all aspects of project planning and execution.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Investigate and report on all incidents and near-misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on safety-related matters.
- Develop and maintain safety metrics and reporting to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
- 20+ years of experience in construction or safety, with 10+ years of experience managing construction or safety teams.
- Experience in developing and implementing health and safety initiatives, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate safety policies and procedures to employees and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with safety certifications and regulatory compliance.
