Role Summary:
This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Quality Performance Improvement and is pivotal in ensuring adherence to various regulatory standards including those set by the Joint Commission, OSHA, FDA, and the Department of Public Health.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee compliance with accreditation requirements and coordinate certification activities for disease-specific programs.
2. Manage operational processes related to data collection, entry, analysis, and timely submission of reports.
3. Generate summary reports and maintain communication with medical staff to facilitate improvement strategies.
Essential Duties:
- Stay updated on regulatory and accreditation standards, serving as a resource for clinical staff.
- Communicate changes in regulations and hospital policies effectively.
- Act as a liaison with external agencies for data submissions.
- Research and implement new technologies to enhance data management and quality improvement.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and manage special projects as assigned.
- Attend required training programs related to quality and safety, ensuring a safe patient care environment.
- Collaborate with the education department to maintain and audit educational records for disease-specific certifications.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years in clinical healthcare, with at least one year in performance improvement.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulatory requirements is essential.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia is required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills are necessary.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
