About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, Land Acquisition and Development to join our team at Taylor Morrison. As a key member of our Division Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in identifying, acquiring, and developing properties that drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive land purchase plan to achieve financial objectives
  • Identify and secure best prices and terms on properties that align with our business plans and financial objectives
  • Ensure successful completion of development activities on schedule and within budget through effective vendor management
  • Drive land profits that meet or exceed business plan expectations
  • Act as a liaison in completing pro-forma's for the Senior Investment Committee
  • Collect and analyze data to prepare reports for potential acquisitions, adhering to company procedures
  • Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, brokers, and other stakeholders to bring acquisition and divestiture opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date on local market land transactions and advise the Division President on potential issues and opportunities
  • Negotiate land purchase contracts and review with outside law firms and in-house counsel
  • Recruit, train, manage, motivate, and support Land Resources staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Five years of experience in land acquisition, divestiture, and development, with a production builder background preferred
  • Demonstrated success in the home building industry, with a strong track record of achievement
  • Excellent business acumen, customer focus, and leadership skills
  • Strong computer literacy and analytical skills
  • Ability to anticipate and mitigate potential obstacles, with a strong work ethic and commitment to execution
Working Conditions

This role requires regular attendance at the Division/Corporate Office/Community, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to sit or stand for long periods, move around the work environment as needed, and operate a motor vehicle.
