- Maintain constant communication and awareness within the kitchen team.
- Ensure adherence to the dress code and professional appearance.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Monitor equipment and utensils, reporting any repair needs.
- Foster teamwork and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Achieve goals set by the executive chef and seek clarification when needed.
- Manage food waste and keep track of inventory levels.
- Address and resolve any food quality concerns.
- Encourage a strong collaborative dynamic between back of house (BOH) and front of house (FOH) staff.
- Ensure the kitchen is consistently clean and organized.
- Provide corrective feedback to BOH staff as necessary.
- Uphold the company's culinary standards.
- Lead by example in all kitchen operations.
- Communicate daily with FOH management on operational matters.
- Report any concerns to the corporate chef or FOH management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Fluency in English and/or Spanish.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook.
- Compliance with all sanitation and safety procedures.
- Team-oriented with a passion for food.
- Positive attitude and high energy level.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Punctual and professional demeanor.
- Ability to coach staff in real-time.
- Strong motivational skills.
- Serv Safe certification and DC Food Handler License required.
