About the Role

The University of Arizona is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the Natural Resource Users Law and Policy Center. As a key member of the university's team, you will play a critical role in advancing the center's mission and contributing to the university's reputation as a leader in natural resource management and policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Representation and Management of the NRULPC: Coordinate and attend meetings, conferences, and workshops with stakeholders from the mining, ranching, farming, and forestry businesses communities, as well as law/policy meetings with agencies such as Farm Bureau, Family Farm Alliance, Agribusiness and Water Council, Arizona Cotton Growers Association, and other local, regional, and national groups.
  • Collaboration and Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside the university to design and implement a consultative structure that ensures regular feedback and input, and prepare quarterly reports to the advisory board and stakeholders.
  • Fundraising: Develop and implement a fundraising plan to ensure the NRULPC is self-sustaining.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in a field closely related to natural resource management, law, and policy, and/or equivalent training and experience.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Evidence of strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively contribute to interdisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Arizona and Western agriculture and natural resource management, law, and policy, as well as experience working with state and federal government elected officials and land management agencies.
