Job Summary

The Patient Care Administrative Nurse Supervisor is a seasoned Registered Nurse responsible for overseeing and monitoring the Nursing department(s) on an assigned shift, adhering to nursing standards and practices, as well as current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for multiple hospital departments in the absence of the unit manager, director, or administration.
  • Ensure the appropriate delivery of direct and indirect patient care via the utilization of the Nursing Process and create a positive environment for the professional practice of nursing.
  • Lead continuous improvement within quality, safety, and in alignment with Balanced Scorecard, key priorities, and strategic plan.
  • Direct and implement evidence-based strategies to transform care delivery and attain optimal outcomes.
  • Partner to implement, facilitate, measure, evaluate clinical quality initiatives, including both process and outcome measures.
  • Analyze data and compose actionable process improvement, status reports, and data-driven presentations to share with leaders and staff.
Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with the Clinical Logistics Center to optimize bed management, expedite room assignments, and ensure timely sample collection and results to maximize capacity.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
  • 3 years of acute care charge or supervisory experience required
  • Critical care or emergency department nursing experience may be required in acute care environments
  • Progressive leadership experience
  • Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut required
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
