Position Summary:
Under limited supervision, the Quality Inspector CMM is tasked with examining a broad array of components, assemblies, tooling fixtures, and materials to ensure they meet customer specifications, company standards, and quality benchmarks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of machined parts, components, assemblies, and materials to verify compliance with relevant regulatory standards (Military Standards, ASTM, AWS, ANSI, and ASME Code).
  • Generate and distribute various electronic and hard copy inspection reports, promptly notifying relevant parties, including project engineers.
  • Set up and operate measurement and testing equipment, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD & T).
  • Utilize Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) for part acceptance, ensuring proper equipment setup, inspection techniques, and final dimensional checks during the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain and update computer databases as necessary.
  • Oversee testing processes, providing quality assurance to confirm adherence to established requirements and standards.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies and customers during audits and reviews of inspection and calibration activities.
  • Monitor and verify quality in alignment with statistical process control procedures.
  • Coordinate the procurement of standard materials, services, and parts for inspection purposes.
  • Uphold compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies while conducting business.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and established operating procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Typically requires an associate's degree, trade school certification, military training, or equivalent experience in quality inspections, along with three or more years of progressive experience in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, or metrology inspection and calibration. Additional experience may substitute for formal education.


Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities to effectively interact with employees at all levels, including management.
  • Capability to analyze complex information and address various intricate issues.
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD & T).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating CMMs; programming experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with CMM software programs (PC-DMIS or similar metrology software).
  • Willingness to work alternate shifts as required.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment, with flexibility for extended hours as needed.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS 9100/9102, and Department of Defense (DOD) quality assurance program requirements in a manufacturing context is highly advantageous.
  • Possession or ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance is preferred.


Salary:
Competitive salary range of $55,110 - $81,930, with travel requirements and relocation assistance provided.
