About the Role

Mental Health Connecticut, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in recovery from chronic mental and co-occurring conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with individuals in recovery to promote participation in programs and activities.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Recovery Plans (IRPs) to support individuals in maintaining a safe and healthy living environment.
  • Identify and refer individuals to community resources and supports, advocating for their individualized needs.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in their residence, including proper supervision and awareness of treatment issues.
  • Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Act as a liaison with therapists, referral sources, and community agencies to ensure seamless support.
  • Document daily progress, behaviors, and incidents in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining confidentiality and communicating concerns with supervisory staff.
  • Assist with obtaining and maintaining entitlements for individuals in recovery.
Requirements
  • GED or High School Diploma required.
  • 2 years of related experience and/or degree in a related field, with a license or certification such as the Recovery Assistant certificate.
  • Knowledge of basic counseling skills and ability to work effectively with individuals in recovery.
