Job Description

Position Overview

Fidelity TalentSource LLC is seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable and efficient data architectures using data warehousing solutions, including Amazon Redshift, Oracle, Snowflake, and ETL processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops PL/SQL and ETL code using Oracle and Informatica to ensure other teams have the correct data.
  • Works in an agile manner within the squad and across other teams to deliver and release valuable source code to the application and its users.
  • Performs coding in various programming languages, including Shell scripting, Python, Java, and PL/SQL.
  • Deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and practices.
  • Develops and migrates applications into cloud-based platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops supplemental applications used to process holdings and trade data to various internal consumers.
  • Supports and continuously improves applications in production.
  • Mentors junior team members.
  • Delivers business value with agile practices.
  • Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers to design systems.
  • Obtains information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Develops and oversees software system tests and validation procedures, programs, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing Informatica ETL and Oracle database development.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated expertise in gathering and analyzing requirements, performing application design and development using PL/SQL in a Linux environment.
  • Developing, designing, and implementing scalable and efficient data architectures using data warehousing solutions, including Amazon Redshift, Oracle, Snowflake, and ETL processes.
  • Applying DevOps principles throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and practices.
  • Performing data analysis, including building analytical applications using Power BI and Tableau.
