Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Manager to join our team at Builders FirstSource. As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for managing and assuming the entire contract lifecycle process, from negotiation to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the negotiation process from start to finish, ensuring successful contract outcomes.
  • Review and analyze contracts initiated with the company, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for revision.
  • Develop and approve addendums to contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Contracts Management and other department personnel to coordinate and manage critical customer and vendor insurance and contract compliance programs.
  • Review contracts for key legal terms and use independent judgment to determine appropriate methods of revision.
  • Work closely with the Legal Department to prioritize issues, schedule meetings, and interface with in-house clients.
  • Manage the tracking, completion, and return of documents requiring action, both within and outside the department and company.
  • Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or coworkers, attending periodic safety meetings as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, law, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience working in the construction/build materials segment is preferred.
Competencies
  • Familiarity with legal terms, documents, and filing systems.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with all levels of personnel.
  • Skill in the use of a personal computer and various application programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to organize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
