Role Overview:
As the Senior Structural Engineering Discipline Lead, you will play a pivotal role in our growing Central Civil Works Department, focusing on flood risk management projects. Your expertise will help shape a strong structural team in the Great Lakes and Mid-West area.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Structural Design Leadership: Lead the conceptualization and development of structural designs, ensuring the preparation of analyses, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
2. Collaboration: Work closely with clients and AECOM teams to ensure alignment and stakeholder engagement throughout project phases.
3. Quality Assurance: Oversee and review the work of team members, ensuring adherence to quality control standards for timely and accurate project outcomes.
4. Innovation: Actively seek opportunities to implement new methodologies and technologies in structural design.
5. Mentorship: Guide and support junior engineers, fostering their professional development and technical skills.
Additional Duties:
- Ensure compliance with applicable design standards and regulations.
- Participate in value engineering and alternatives analysis.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and site conditions.
- Present project updates and proposals to clients as necessary.
- Assist in business development and proposal efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer license in at least one U.S. state, with the ability to obtain licenses in others.
- Experience with federal projects and agencies is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of flood risk management design principles and federal guidelines.
- Proficiency in design software such as SAP2000 and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
