Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Pediatric Residency Program Director to lead our esteemed Pediatric Residency Programs at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the pediatric residency program, providing guidance and mentorship to residents, and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Education: Develop and implement educational programs for residents, ensuring they receive comprehensive training in pediatric care.
  • Research and Scholarship: Conduct educational research and serve as a research mentor to other educational leaders and housestaff in the department of pediatrics.
  • Service and Leadership: Participate in departmental, institutional, and school-level committees, and engage in professional activities such as journal review and conference presentations.
  • Clinical Practice: Provide general pediatric care or subspecialty services to patients, and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Board certification or eligibility in General Pediatrics and/or a Pediatric Subspecialty.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in educational leadership, with a proven track record of success in mentoring residents and medical students.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, with a focus on promoting equity and excellence in pediatric care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Subspecialty Expertise: Interest and experience in working with General Pediatrics or a Pediatric Subspecialty in which they are trained.
