Contract: 3 Months

Pay Rate: $50-60/hr

Position Overview

eTeam is seeking a dedicated Component Engineer to oversee the lifecycle management of electronic components. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the effective management of component obsolescence.

The Component Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the obsolescence management process, including predictive analysis.
  • Utilizing advanced tools to monitor and report on component availability and alternatives.
  • Working closely with supply chain and procurement teams to identify potential Lifetime Buy Orders (LBO).
  • Preparing detailed obsolescence reports and recommendations on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring that Bills of Material (BOMs) utilize components from the Preferred Parts List whenever possible.
  • Participating in Design Reviews to mitigate obsolescence risks in new designs.

Key Responsibilities

The Component Engineer will:

  • Manage predictive obsolescence reports using specialized tools.
  • Assign part numbers for non-Preferred Parts List components.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to address identified component issues.
  • Provide recommendations for alternative components for Engineering evaluation.
  • Facilitate multi-functional meetings focused on obsolescence management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and issues related to component engineering.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical or electronic hardware.
  • Experience with obsolescence management and component engineering.
  • Proficiency in using tools for obsolescence tracking and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance including RoHS and REACH.

  • Experience with Configuration Management tools.
