Position Overview

eTeam is seeking a skilled Component Engineer to manage the lifecycle of electronic components. This role involves overseeing the obsolescence management process and requires expertise in predictive analysis.

The Component Engineer will be responsible for assessing components that have reached obsolescence and collaborating with engineering teams to identify suitable replacements. This includes engaging with supply chain and procurement teams to facilitate Lifetime Buy Orders (LBO) as necessary. The engineer will also prepare detailed reports and recommendations on obsolescence trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the management of obsolescence based on customer needs and reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate parts availability and explore alternative options.
  • Manage predictive obsolescence reports utilizing advanced tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering to address component issues and recommend alternatives.
  • Conduct multi-functional meetings to discuss obsolescence strategies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of component engineering issues and prepare reports as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical or electronic hardware.
  • Proficiency in using obsolescence management tools.
  • Experience with Material Declaration processes.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
