Position Overview:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, managing, and coordinating the setup and operational activities for the venue.

Compensation:

This role offers a salary range of $14.00-$16.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all services and operations related to the venue spaces.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate part-time staff.
  • Conduct training sessions for all employees and temporary personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide coaching to employees to address performance issues; collaborate with Human Resources as necessary.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating work schedules for facility operations.
  • Analyze event documentation to determine staffing and equipment requirements.
  • Coordinate arrangements with vendors and service providers.
  • Supervise changeover and housekeeping teams, offering support as needed.
  • Efficiently schedule and manage crews for large events, adjusting as necessary.
  • Maintain departmental equipment and report repair needs to management.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an operations role within a similar environment.
  • An advanced degree in Facility Management or a related field may substitute for experience.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and email.
  • Preferred experience with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and regulations.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Clear and concise communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:

This position may require lifting and moving equipment. Employees will frequently navigate various areas of the facility to interact with clients and supervise staff. Duties may involve bending, stooping, or crouching to inspect equipment. Operation of forklifts and high lifts may be necessary for maintenance tasks. Employees will frequently use computers and office equipment, and will need to communicate effectively with others. Lifting requirements may include up to 30 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.

Work Environment:

Work is primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks. The noise level varies from minimal to moderate on non-event days, increasing to moderate to loud during events. The work environment may be cool when ice rinks are in use. Employees will be exposed to large crowds and may work in tight spaces.
