Event Operations Coordinator

Position Overview
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, managing, and coordinating the setup and operational activities for events within the facility.
This role offers a competitive salary ranging from $14.00 to $16.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all services and activities related to the operations of the venue.
- Conduct interviews, select, train, mentor, assess, and discipline part-time personnel.
- Provide comprehensive training for all staff and temporary workers.
- Ensure staff adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Guide and mentor employees to address performance issues; collaborate with Human Resources on disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Assist in planning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing operational work plans for the facility.
- Analyze event documentation to anticipate staffing and equipment requirements for all events.
- Coordinate venue arrangements with service providers and audio-visual teams.
- Supervise and support changeover and housekeeping teams as needed.
- Accurately schedule changeover and housekeeping crews for large groups, making necessary adjustments and notifications.
- Maintain departmental equipment and inform the Director of Operations regarding repair needs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients to foster a positive work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of experience in an operations role within an arena, convention center, or similar venue, with a solid understanding of setup, housekeeping, and event coordination.
- An advanced degree in Facility Management or a related field may substitute for experience.
- Basic computer proficiency in a Windows environment, including typing, data entry, and email.
- Preferred advanced skills in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to effectively lead a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and requirements.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in clear and concise communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License is preferred.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including a varied schedule of days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
In this role, the employee may occasionally lift and move equipment and tools. The position involves frequent movement throughout the facility to engage with clients and supervise staff. The employee may need to bend, stoop, or crouch to inspect equipment and infrastructure. Operation of forklifts and high lifts may be required for maintenance tasks. The employee will frequently operate computers and office devices, and must communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person interactions. Lifting requirements include frequently lifting up to 30 lbs, occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs, and pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs as necessary.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily performed indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks depending on weather conditions. The noise level varies from minimal to moderate on non-event days and can be moderate to loud during events. The work environment is consistently cool when the ice rink is in operation. Employees may encounter large crowds, confined spaces, high elevations, and loud environments.
