Basilone Executive Search is representing a well-established equipment design and manufacturing firm with a workforce of approximately 90 employees. They are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to spearhead the development initiatives for both existing and new equipment.

Position Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of circuits and systems utilized in testing equipment control. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating detailed electrical and controls engineering documentation and drawings.
  • Specifying components for electrical controls and panel assemblies.
  • Determining heating elements and circuit requirements for industrial ovens and furnaces.
  • Evaluating proposed modifications to ensure adherence to engineering standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to identify and procure engineered components.
  • Developing PLC and HMI projects along with control logic diagrams.
  • Applying knowledge of IEEE, UL, NEC, CSA, and EU/CE standards relevant to our applications.

Key Responsibilities and Competencies:

  • Expertise in electrical engineering, industrial automation, and product testing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation.
  • Design, operate, and test systems using low to medium voltage (up to 480 VAC, 3-phase, and below), DC circuits, and various analog systems.
  • Size and specify electrical and control components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and motor starters.
  • Develop and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control descriptions, I/O lists, Bills of Materials, and PLC/HMI code for electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with electric codes and standards.
  • Experience in designing and programming PLCs, HMIs, and Ethernet interfacing, along with developing control logic diagrams.
  • Prior experience with PLCs, HMIs, temperature controllers, and control panel design is essential. Familiarity with LabView, C++, and communication networks is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
  • Provide support to Field Service Technicians during equipment installation, startup, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Assist production teams in resolving design and assembly challenges as necessary.
  • Engage in sales communication and customer support as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training may be considered.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Inventor Pro.
