A well-established equipment design and manufacturing firm with a dedicated team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to spearhead development initiatives for both current and upcoming equipment.
Position Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of circuits and systems utilized in testing equipment control. Key responsibilities include:
- Creating detailed electrical and controls engineering documentation and drawings.
- Specifying components for electrical controls and panel assemblies.
- Designing heating elements and circuits tailored for industrial ovens and furnaces.
- Evaluating proposed modifications to existing designs to ensure adherence to engineering standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with suppliers to identify and procure engineered components.
- Developing PLC and HMI projects along with control logic diagrams.
- Applying knowledge of IEEE, UL, NEC, CSA, and EU/CE standards relevant to our applications.
Key Responsibilities and Competencies:
- Expertise in electrical engineering, industrial automation, and product testing.
- Managing multiple projects and maintaining comprehensive engineering documentation.
- Designing, operating, and testing systems with low to medium voltage applications.
- Sizing and specifying electrical and control components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
- Creating and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control descriptions.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Proficient in the design and programming of PLCs and HMIs, including developing control logic diagrams.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and control panel design is essential; familiarity with LabView and C++ is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and system resolution.
- Providing support to Field Service Technicians during equipment installation and maintenance.
- Assisting production teams in resolving design and assembly challenges.
- Engaging in customer support and sales communication as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology is preferred.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience is desirable.
- Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training may be considered.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Autodesk software, including AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
