Position Overview

The Production Superintendent oversees the manufacturing personnel, guiding the daily functions of production staff while ensuring adherence to the organization's policies and relevant regulations. This role involves compliance with collective agreements (if applicable), safety protocols, attendance guidelines, and all other operational procedures concerning production staff. Additionally, the Superintendent is responsible for addressing performance and behavioral issues among employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages production activities within the designated area to guarantee adherence to operational methods, quality benchmarks, safety standards, and efficient equipment utilization.
  • Analyzes production orders to determine product details such as types, quantities, and specifications to effectively plan departmental operations.
  • Coordinates production schedules, prioritizing and sequencing manufacturing tasks to ensure that product quality and specifications meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Reviews operational reports to identify and resolve manufacturing and maintenance challenges, ensuring cost efficiency and minimizing delays.
  • Conducts inspections of machinery and equipment to confirm optimal operational performance.
  • Collects, organizes, and retrieves production data as needed.
  • Develops or updates standard operating procedures and monitors staff compliance with these standards.
  • Promotes and maintains safety and cleanliness standards by communicating effective practices and ensuring adherence through regular inspections.
  • Provides training, coaching, and mentorship to team members to cultivate a skilled and quality-focused workforce capable of delivering exceptional products.
  • Upholds and advocates for all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the automotive sector is preferred.
  • Willingness to work the second shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM).
