Work Schedule:
- Full Time Evening
- Monday to Sunday
- Shift Start and End Times: Varies
- Rotating Holiday Assignments
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather information through various channels, including phone and online platforms, to accurately register patients for outpatient services.
- Verify insurance eligibility and discuss Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABN) as necessary.
- Obtain necessary certification or pre-certification for scheduled outpatient procedures.
- Ensure adherence to State and Federal regulations.
- Manage work queue functions and perform follow-ups on denials.
- Handle inquiries via phone, fax, and email, and respond to correspondence.
- Perform additional duties that contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement.
- Escalate cases to financial counselors when required.
- Communicate with healthcare providers when pre-certification is not obtained to facilitate the acquisition of essential clinical information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Familiarity with the healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.
- Understanding of insurance processes is advantageous.
- One to two years of experience in Nursing or Patient Access is desirable.
