Job SummaryAuto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a claims intern for the summer. As a claims intern, you will have the opportunity to work with our experienced claims team to investigate and resolve claims, while gaining valuable knowledge and skills in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and assemble facts to determine policy coverage and evaluate the amount of loss.
- Analyze legal liability and pay or deny losses.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to become familiar with insurance coverage.
- Work towards the resolution of claims, and may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
- Ensure that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
- Service the needs of agents, policyholders, and others.
- Handle investigations by phone, mail, and on-site investigations.
To be considered for this internship, you should be currently enrolled and entering your junior or senior year in college. You should also possess above-average communication skills (written and verbal), the ability to resolve complex issues, and the ability to handle multiple assignments.
CompensationThe internship offers a competitive rate of $16.00 per hour, with the possibility of higher pay for returning interns.
