Job Overview

Pel-State Services is seeking a dedicated Fuel Transport Operator to enhance our operations. This role involves driving a bobtail and/or tractor-tanker, often over set routes to deliver fuel. The position is physically demanding, requiring the loading and unloading of fuel at various client locations. The successful candidate will operate the company vehicle with professionalism and adhere to safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize knowledge of commercial driving regulations while maneuvering the vehicle safely.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the truck to ensure optimal condition.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Safely load fuel from designated locations and unload into client tanks and equipment.
  • Engage with customers during deliveries, ensuring service excellence.
  • Complete all scheduled deliveries by the end of the shift.
  • Follow all operational procedures and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 23 years old.
  • Possess a Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
  • Ability to read and understand documents and write clearly.
  • Complete a DOT-compliant application for employment.
  • Pass the required DOT road test, drug screening, and physical examination.
  • Familiarity with highways and locations in TX, NM, and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks associated with the role.

Working Conditions:

This position involves moderate physical activity, including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be prepared for exposure to various weather conditions and the physical demands of long-distance driving.


Benefits:

Eligible employees can enroll in health insurance plans, including medical, dental, and vision coverage after a specified period. Paid time off, including holidays, is available after a set duration of employment. Employees may also enroll in a 401K plan after the initial period. The average work schedule consists of approximately 50 hours per week, subject to change based on operational needs. Compensation for route drivers starts at $21 per hour, with potential for negotiation based on experience and shift.
