Position Summary

The Logistics Driver is responsible for executing routine vehicle operations for Division Laundry & Cleaners Inc. This role involves operating medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers to transport laundry materials between various client locations and the processing facility. The position operates under the general oversight of the Fleet Supervisor, allowing for moderate independence and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate medium-duty trucks or heavy-duty tractor trailers to transport laundry products to and from designated facilities, adhering to federal regulations and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
  • Conduct pre and post-operation vehicle inspections, ensuring proper fluid levels, tire pressure, and safety checks are performed consistently.
  • Load and secure laundry carts and cargo, ensuring that all items are accounted for and properly tied down to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain the integrity of the truck's cargo by managing cart repositioning as necessary during deliveries and pickups.
  • Clean the trailer's interior after unloading soiled laundry, following company standards for cleanliness and documentation.
  • Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely, including operational reports and load counts.
  • Deliver clean linens to customer locations using company vehicles, ensuring all items listed in the manifest are delivered and obtaining customer signatures as required.
  • Prepare the vehicle for subsequent shifts, including fueling, cleaning, and organizing necessary documents.
  • Report any vehicle issues or customer feedback to the Supervisor promptly.
  • Occasionally assist with additional deliveries as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience driving medium-duty trucks or tractor trailers without any DOT violations.
  • Possess a valid Class C, CDL-A, or CDL-B driver's license.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and pass all required background checks and physical examinations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of electronic logging devices (ELDs) if applicable.
  • Physical capability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

This position involves frequent travel in company vehicles to various client locations, with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, though flexibility for additional hours may be required.
