Job Title: Director, Global Logistics

Akebia Therapeutics is seeking a seasoned logistics professional to lead the development and execution of logistics strategies that support our global commercial and clinical supply chains.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with Akebia's business objectives for all commercial and clinical products.
  • Oversee international transportation, warehousing, and distribution to ensure efficient, timely delivery and cost-effective operations.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers, third-party storage facilities, and other supply chain partners.
  • Develop risk scorecards, identifying global supply chain risks and developing contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate logistics activities and ensure compliance with international regulations.
  • Establish and use key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics to monitor logistics performance, manage global inventory levels, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in global logistics and supply chain management, with 5+ years in a leadership role, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of international logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Proven experience managing logistics for both clinical and commercial supply chains.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data for decision-making and optimization.
