Position Overview:

OPSPro is dedicated to delivering compliance and operational support tailored for small enterprises and government contractors, encompassing Accounting, Payroll, HR, Contracting, and IT services.

The Financial Operations Manager role is a full-time, fully remote opportunity.

This position is chiefly accountable for all aspects of financial reporting, adherence to GAAP standards, government contract accounting, and the capability to oversee intricate projects within a dynamic General Accounting setting for diverse clients across multiple sectors.

This role necessitates the supervision of departmental personnel and is tasked with managing the team and client project assignments to guarantee that responsibilities are effectively distributed and executed in a timely and precise manner.

Team Management Oversee results-oriented project teams.
Structure team roles and assess employee performance.
Enhance staff capabilities through recruitment, selection, orientation, and training.
Provide tailored coaching and mentorship to team members.
Implement departmental training initiatives, including weekly team development sessions.
Facilitate weekly team meetings.
Direct departmental workflow to ensure that responsibilities are effectively allocated and completed promptly and accurately.

Establish objectives, identify and analyze trends and options, select a course of action, and evaluate outcomes of departmental tasks and workflows for ongoing enhancement.

Assist in achieving company-defined objectives by offering forecasting, maintaining a departmental budget, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective measures.
Address inquiries from executive or management teams regarding departmental financial outcomes and special reporting requests.

Act as the team's resource in government contract accounting, GAAP, DCAA, and FAR standards and regulations to advise internal teams as necessary, along with expertise in all client consulting areas.

Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Multi-client Consulting Uphold quality customer service standards and resolve customer service challenges.

Safeguard the integrity of financial systems and the maintenance of accounts and records in areas such as assets, liabilities, equity, income, and expenses in accordance with GAAP.

Comprehend FAR and DCAA cost allocation requirements to ensure costs are allocated per appropriate accounting standards and guidelines.

Guarantee financial deadlines are met for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closures, including project reporting requirements.
Analyze financial statements and engage with clients to present completed analyses and recommendations.

Review contracts and contract modifications concerning accounting and project setups of the system and client recommendations.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Assist with cash flow management.
Address client inquiries regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
10+ years of management experience, ideally in a multi-business consulting context.
Willingness to learn various accounting systems, advanced system knowledge is advantageous (i.e., Procas, Unanet, Costpoint, QuickBooks).
Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), and the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR).
Demonstrable knowledge of government contract funding and invoicing.
Must be proficient with PCs and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Proficient with other Microsoft products (Teams, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint).
Experience in successfully managing multiple projects and clients.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, delegation, and prioritization skills.
Planning and development of projects.
Excellent communication skills.
Creative problem solver.

Preferred Qualifications CPA or other state licensure is a plus.
Advanced degree in accounting, finance, management, or a related field.
Certification in an accounting system (i.e., Unanet, Costpoint, QuickBooks).
