Position: ICU Veterinary Technician

We are expanding our hospital and seeking an experienced ICU Veterinary Technician with at least 4 years of experience in specialty practice; ICU experience is preferred. There may be opportunities for rotation into the Emergency Department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current CVT/LVT/RVT credentials; VTS certification is highly valued.

Shift Details:

Overnight schedule: Sunday through Wednesday, 10 PM - 8 AM. (*** ELIGIBLE FOR SIGN-ON BONUS ***)

As an ICU Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional and compassionate care to our most critically ill patients, collaborating closely with our Critical Care specialists and experienced Emergency veterinarians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in specialty veterinary medicine.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of small animal medicine, including pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, and laboratory testing.
  • Thorough understanding of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes.
  • Attention to detail and a composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in veterinary software and computer skills.
  • Care for critically ill patients in our dedicated ICU.
  • Perform various treatments, including catheter placements and advanced interventions.
  • Conduct drug dose calculations for injectable medications and CRIs.
  • Execute diagnostics and advanced monitoring of critical patients.
  • Administer anesthesia and medications via various routes.
  • Mentor junior nursing staff.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Utilize Fear Free handling techniques for safe interactions.
