Position: Veterinary Technician - Emergency Department

We are actively seeking to expand our dedicated team and are in search of a Veterinary Technician with a minimum of two years of experience in emergency veterinary care to join our Emergency Department.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Current CVT/LVT/RVT certification or equivalent education.

Overnight schedule available:

Thursday through Saturday, 8 PM - 8 AM (*** SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE ***)

*For candidates lacking two years of emergency experience but possessing the necessary education and a strong desire to develop their skills, please inquire about Metropolitan's Talent Management Program.*

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in emergency veterinary care.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of basic small animal medicine, including pharmacology, proper restraint techniques, venipuncture, and laboratory testing.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a composed demeanor.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in computer operations.
  • Triage capabilities to identify emergencies and illnesses.
  • Administer various treatments for both in-house and outpatient cases.
  • Manage anesthesia: induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, and patient recovery.
  • Administer medications as prescribed.
  • Assist in medical procedures.
  • Position and capture radiographs.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and team members, both verbally and in writing.
  • Utilize Fear Free handling techniques to ensure safe and stress-free interactions for all parties involved.
