Job Summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a highly qualified Veterinarian Educator to join our team as an instructor for our Veterinary Technician Associate Degree Program. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and training to our students, ensuring they meet the curriculum standards and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans, incorporating scheduled activities and materials to achieve specific objectives.
  • Plan instruction to meet the needs of students, based on established curriculum and student performance.
  • Monitor student attendance and coordinate with the Associate Director of Student Services to address any issues.
  • Evaluate student performance and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate student records and transcripts.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to clinics and hospitals.
  • Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations for students.
  • May assist with externships for Veterinary Technician students.
  • Monitor student safety and ensure adherence to safety precautions in the classroom.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Must graduate with a degree certifying Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Licensed Veterinarian in the state in which the campus is located.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a DVM in a clinic, hospital, or shelter environment.
  • Must hold a current license, certification, or other designation as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the field.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills with experience in essential word processing and spreadsheet documents.
  • Experience with visual computer presentation preferred.
