Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Engineer – Green Hydrogen will play a pivotal role in supporting various green hydrogen, ammonia, and other hydrogen derivative initiatives.
This position is integral to the project team, responsible for reviewing and coordinating engineering functions across multiple projects in various stages of development or construction.
In collaboration with the Director of Project Engineering, Preconstruction Managers, Construction Managers, and installation and commissioning teams, the Senior Project Engineer – Green Hydrogen will ensure the timely delivery of engineering outputs and clarifications to stakeholders, aiming to maintain project timelines and mitigate technical risks associated with the installation, commissioning, and operation of green hydrogen projects through precise and timely documentation.
The role encompasses managing engineering design processes, overseeing consultants and contractors, providing technical guidance during contractor selection, conducting design reviews to enhance performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness, and offering support during commissioning phases.
Additional duties include developing project-specific solutions, organizing and participating in technical and progress review meetings, and providing assistance during pre-FEED studies, FEED studies, and EPC execution of various projects.
This position is crucial for CV Library in achieving our mission to facilitate the transition to renewable energy.Key Accountabilities:
Serve as a technical expert to deliver appropriate engineering support for both pre-construction and construction teams.
Interpret project requirements, including processes, applications, and deliverables, with a focus on critical documentation such as PFDs, P&IDs, H&M balance, GA drawings, equipment lists, layouts, and 3D models.
Manage outsourced engineering activities to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.Lead the execution of engineering-related tasks for various green hydrogen, green ammonia, and other hydrogen derivative projects.
Propose cost-effective execution and operational techniques to develop the most economical total project solution.
Evaluate and assist in resolving technical issues in projects with support from other Subject Matter Experts and external consultants.
Provide input during all design phases, including the interpretation of standards.Actively engage in key project meetings for progress reviews, design assessments, and other risk evaluations.
Prepare design specifications as necessary for various green hydrogen, green ammonia, and other hydrogen derivative projects.
Support interactions with independent engineers to address technical challenges throughout design and construction phases.
Assist the Director of Project Engineering by identifying resource needs for ongoing projects and future project pipelines.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering design management processes.
Qualifications:
Education / Experience / Qualifications Required:
A bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering is essential.
Work Experience:
A minimum of seven to ten years of experience in the chemicals or oil and gas industry.
At least five years of pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC experience in major projects within the chemicals or oil and gas sector.
Experience in evaluating projects in the chemicals or oil and gas sector through early FEL studies.
Familiarity with sound engineering practices, international codes and standards, and statutory norms related to projects in the chemicals or oil and gas sector.
Experience in project engineering and collaboration with diverse stakeholder groups for medium to large-scale complex projects.General understanding of work safety protocols, compliance requirements, and experience in risk assessment.
Hands-on experience in the execution and/or operation of Hydrogen, Ammonia, or Methanol facilities.
Experience with reputable EPC companies or Plant Operators.
Professional registration and membership in a technical society.

Travel Requirements:
Up to 25% travel, both domestically and internationally, including visits to remote project sites and manufacturing facilities.
The anticipated starting salary for this role ranges from $128,000 to $173,000.
This range is an estimate, and base pay may vary based on factors such as location, work experience, certifications, and education.
