About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Director to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth for our properties. As a Sales Director at Marriott International, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to meet or exceed hotel sales objectives, booking goals, and property revenues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed hotel sales objectives, booking goals, and property revenues
- Lead a small team of on-property sales associates and pull through a number of above-property sales channels
- Build strong relationships with local organizations, customers, and internal stakeholders to further increase brand/product awareness and drive customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Develop and manage internal key stakeholder relationships
- Identify, train, and mentor group sales associates
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the sales team and ensure they understand and are leveraging Marriott International's demand engines to full potential
- Work with Human Resources to attract, develop, and retain the right people to support the strategic priorities of the market
- Set goals and expectations for direct reports using the Leadership Performance Process (LPP), align performance and rewards, and hold staff accountable for successful results
Requirements:
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area
- OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area
- Demonstrated skills in supervising a team
- Lodging sales experience
- Hotel industry work experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
