Job Summary

The Laboratory for Genomics Research at UCSF is seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation platforms that support our arrayed functional genomics screens.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation engineering, programming, and software development, with experience working with integrated systems and lab automation equipment. You will work closely with our biology and computational groups to develop and implement innovative solutions for our research needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automation platforms for arrayed functional genomics screens
  • Develop and maintain custom software with Python and SQL
  • Collaborate with biology and computational groups to develop innovative solutions
  • Work with integrated systems and lab automation equipment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of automation engineering and programming
  • Experience working with integrated systems and lab automation equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD in a related field
  • Experience working with Thermo Momentum, Labcyte Tempo, Hamilton STAR, and Agilent Bravo platforms
