Job Title: Controls Engineer

We have a Controls Engineer position in San Diego, CA. This position is responsible for controls engineering project requirements involving PLC programming, HMI/SCADA programming, control panel design, instrumentation specification, check-out support, and commissioning assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards
  • Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes
  • Develop control system architecture, select components, and detail schematic diagrams and system documentation
  • Program controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU), program process visualization (HMI/SCADA), and develop databases for archiving/displaying historical system data
  • Implement and commission control systems at client facilities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science or equal experience
  • Two to five years of experience in the following areas:
    • Life Science/Pharma industry experience
    • PLC experience
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems, including Inductive Automation/Ignition, Rockwell FactoryTalk, and AVEVA System Platform
  • Control System Network experience and ISA 88 Batch experience
  • Experience in the design of electrical schematics and control panels
  • Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians to provide control system solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
