Job Summary

The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with other medical professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. This role involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a physician, performing specific services to meet the personal needs and comforts of patients. The Medical Assistant must understand the needs of the practice and support the mission and values of WakeMed.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care under the direction of a physician, including performing specific services to meet the personal needs and comforts of patients.
  • Works collaboratively with other medical professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Understands the needs of the practice and supports the mission and values of WakeMed.
  • Required registration/certification must be one of the following: American Academy of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Center for Competency Testing.
Requirements
  • 2 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
  • Graduate Medical Assisting (preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (required within 24 months of hire) or Registered Medical Assistant (required within 24 months of hire)
