Role Responsibilities
Turtle and Hughes is in search of a skilled individual for the Credit Associate position. This entry-level role involves:
- Engaging with clients regarding outstanding balances
- Communicating with clients or sales representatives about partially paid or disputed invoices
- Following up with overdue clients to secure payments
- Reviewing and addressing orders placed on credit hold
- Mitigating delinquency and minimizing bad debt losses through regular credit assessments
- Building relationships with clients to enhance customer service
- Utilizing lien and bond regulations as necessary to assist in collections
- Providing support for credit and collection activities across designated branches
- Ensuring timely communication with clients for payment requests
- Gaining familiarity with applicable state tax regulations
- Continuously reviewing aging reports
- Making recommendations to restrict accounts when appropriate
- Verifying that credit limits assigned to current clients are justified and defensible
- Establishing and maintaining a systematic follow-up process
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred; however, a combination of relevant experience in credit management within the construction and industrial equipment sectors may be considered.
- Strong grasp of root cause analysis and process enhancement principles
- Effective negotiation abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent time management capabilities
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
- Knowledge of construction or building materials is advantageous
