Job Overview

Reporting To: Quality Manager

Objective: As an NDT Quality Assurance Specialist, your primary responsibility is to guarantee that the products manufactured meet high-quality standards and comply with applicable specifications. You will also play a crucial role in training and guiding Level II NDT Inspectors, contributing significantly to our production team by ensuring quality from the initial receiving inspection to the final assessment.

Qualifications & Experience

This position necessitates a foundational understanding of various categories, including:

  • ASNT-SNT-TC-1A NDT Level III certification in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting UT, MT, and PT inspections.
  • At least 5 years of experience performing dimensional inspections utilizing handheld measurement tools such as calipers, verniers, OD micrometers, bore gauges, and other relevant instruments.
  • 3 years of experience with Keyence Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in interpreting engineering schematics and technical drawings.
  • 3 years of experience in understanding and inspecting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of the types of equipment serviced at our facility.
  • Effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct NDT inspections (MT, PT, UT) and accurately document findings.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Level II NDT inspectors.
  • Execute receiving inspections, in-process evaluations, and final inspections in accordance with company and customer standards to ensure product compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Shipping & Receiving Department to ensure proper packaging and dispatch of customer products.
  • Document any discrepancies identified during measurement or visual inspection tests in the company's Non-Conformance Report (NCR) database.
  • Propose enhancements to improve product consistency.
  • Record inspection results and compile final Certificates of Conformance (COC).
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Ensure cleanliness in all inspection areas.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, typically up to four hours.
  • Capability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach as necessary.
  • Compliance with safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Regular lifting of weights between 25-50 lbs.
  • Frequent performance of repetitive tasks.
  • Possession of fine motor skills for precise tasks.
