POSITION SUMMARY


Reporting to the Director of Clinical Strategic Operations Planning, the Senior Clinical Strategic Portfolio Manager role within Clinical Infrastructure is primarily tasked with facilitating strategies that empower Clinical Operations to optimize its physical environment and prepare for upcoming spatial requirements.

This position is crucial for the development and execution of the Master Facility Framework, which oversees the construction of new facilities and the enhancement of existing sites.

Additionally, this role supports the Strategic and Facilities Master Planning initiatives, including Clinical Operations Plans across various operational sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Master Facility Framework Development and Oversight

Organizes and manages documentation, ensuring timely updates to reflect new insights and evolving clinical operational needs. Identifies areas necessitating specialized expertise to inform strategic planning and assists in securing funding while overseeing consultant efforts for significant updates requiring external input.

Strategic Planning and Implementation

Leads and collaborates on studies encompassing Departmental, Divisional, and Institutional Strategic Planning. Gathers and synthesizes data from diverse sources to formulate clear recommendations.

Provides expert guidance to Leadership, End Users, Project Planners, and Project Managers, serving as a Subject Matter Expert to promote space utilization and project planning in alignment with approved Strategic Plans and Institutional Design Standards.

This includes advising on design principles, space utilization targets, and project programming and planning for clinical operations.

Data Collection and Analysis


Utilizes information across multiple disciplines, including architecture, design, campus planning, space management, capital budgeting, business planning, operations, real estate, construction, and data management.

Integrates information related to departmental and facility operations, Key Planning Units, spatial benchmarks, cost benchmarks, regulatory mandates, building system types, existing building inventory, space utilization data, employee statistics, capital plans, cash flows, business proformas, and construction methodologies.

Collaborates with the Asset Information Team to ensure access to high-quality data and accurate floor plans necessary for fulfilling the responsibilities of this role.


Presentation and Communication Skills

Effectively presents information in standalone documents and during active presentations. Communicates at various levels of detail for a broad audience.

Client Engagement/Subject Matter Expertise

Manages complex client interactions and acts as a subject matter expert.

Encourages collaboration with leaders, subject matter experts, end users, and other stakeholders to continually understand clinical operational needs, make informed strategic recommendations, and implement approved strategic initiatives.


Business and Capital Planning


Develops assumptions regarding scope, costs, budgets, and cash flow related to capital projects identified in the Master Facilities Framework and other Strategic Plans.

Collaborates with Leadership and Subject Matter Experts as necessary to present business cases.

Real Estate Assessment

Assists in evaluating existing and prospective properties. Identifies areas for growth and collaborates with the Real Estate department to assess potential sites or structures. Evaluates aging facilities to determine their continued viability.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred:
Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required:
Five years of experience in healthcare planning and design or a related field, including two years in project/program management. With a preferred degree, three years of experience in healthcare planning and design or a related field, including project/program management.

Preferred:
Five years of project/program management experience.
