As a key player at Engineering Specialists Inc, the Production Manager is entrusted with the overall productivity, safety, and effectiveness of the manufacturing unit. This role involves leading and mentoring the team, fostering a strong client service culture, ensuring adherence to processes, and maintaining an adaptable approach to project timelines. The Production Manager is accountable for the operational efficiency and success of the unit, measured against established performance indicators.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Organize and facilitate project initiation meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Sales to grasp the complete scope of projects and commitments.
  • Assess and schedule new projects while forecasting their impact on existing operations.
  • Adjust production schedules as necessary to accommodate new projects and staffing levels.
  • Communicate any changes in production schedules to relevant personnel.
  • Generate reports to aid in resource allocation, material management, and project planning.
Shop Floor Management
  • Maintain a clean and organized production area.
  • Evaluate and optimize the production layout to meet operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Client Relations
  • Adopt a proactive, customer-focused approach in all interactions.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding project status and inquiries.
  • Address client concerns promptly and with a sense of ownership.
Team Leadership
  • Provide constructive feedback to the production team to cultivate a positive work environment.
  • Encourage team development and the acquisition of new skills.
  • Identify and implement improvements in best practices and processes.
  • Address any issues that may hinder the team's operational effectiveness.
Qualifications

To qualify for the Production Manager position, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Over 5 years of experience in a flexible, cell-based manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience managing non-exempt personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • A valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A four-year degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with modular production layouts.
  • Knowledge of CSIA and/or ISO standards.
Work Environment

The work environment is industrial, with exposure to moderate noise levels. Daily activities may involve the use of electric tools, cranes, and forklifts, as well as potential exposure to fumes and airborne particles. Candidates should be able to navigate between aisles of equipment and lift at least 25 pounds.
