The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and have a strong background in IT. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance and recommendations for accessibility best practices and standards, as well as supporting the development and maintenance of accessible ICT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Section 508 compliance and testing support to ensure that our digital products and services meet accessibility requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of accessibility standards and best practices across the organization.
  • Collaborate with web developers, web content specialists, and document creators to ensure that all digital content is accessible.
  • Conduct accessibility audits and provide recommendations for remediation.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and job aids to support staff in creating accessible ICT.
  • Support the government client in producing accessible documents and web material.

Qualification Requirements:

  • DHS certified (v5.0 or higher) Section 508 Trusted Tester.
  • 2-3 years of experience performing Section 508 compliance testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Background in IT.
  • Understanding of ICT accessibility in the Federal Government.
  • Ability to support the government client in producing accessible documents and web material.
  • Experience collaborating with web developers, web content specialists, and document creators.
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.0.
  • Proven history of performing accessibility assessments, audits, compliance monitoring and implementation of WCAG standards.
  • Ability to assess and remediate ICT and electronic content for accessibility, including communications, presentations, applications, and websites.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently communicate deficiencies, problems, and areas needed for improvement.
