Job Title: Auditor III-V

The Texas General Land Office is seeking a highly skilled Auditor III-V to join our team. As a key member of our CDR-Compliance program area, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the state's history, maximizing revenue through innovative administration, and ensuring responsible management of state lands and natural resources.

Job Summary:

Auditor III-Vs conduct highly complex auditing assignments to achieve specific objectives efficiently. They prepare detailed audit workpapers to provide accurate and concise documentation supporting audit conclusions and recommendations. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct advanced auditing tasks to meet predetermined objectives in coordination with CDRC management.
  • Act as the project lead for audits and provide oversight with minimal supervision.
  • Develop audit reports and communicate findings effectively with clients.
  • Supervise or conduct highly advanced audit functions to ensure timely completion of assignments and serve as the audit project lead.
  • Oversee audit scopes, programs, and objectives, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and relevant laws.
Requirements:
  • Minimum a four-year degree in auditing, accounting, business administration, finance, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in accounting or auditing required.
  • Flexibility to work beyond regular hours and travel up to 30% for compliance monitoring reviews.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with TeamMate audit software and monitoring federally-funded grant programs.
  • Preferred certifications include CIA, CFE, CPA, and CGAP.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):
  • Strong understanding of auditing standards and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out both sedentary office work and mobility tasks when necessary.
