Job Overview

As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of essential infrastructure components. This includes managing systems across various platforms such as Linux, Windows, and MacOS, as well as overseeing DNS, DHCP, network switches, and power systems within hardware lab server racks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the storage infrastructure meets all operational requirements while avoiding performance bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to the development of automation solutions for infrastructure configurations, host imaging, firmware/security updates, and license installations.
  • Implement system and network health monitoring protocols.
  • Diagnose and resolve ambiguous infrastructure failures in collaboration with fellow engineers.
  • Work closely with Network Engineers to configure and manage network connections for on-premise servers across multiple locations.
  • Establish and adhere to processes for managing downtimes related to both planned and unplanned infrastructure outages.
  • Provide in-person and remote support for data centers.
  • Create and maintain documentation for disaster recovery and other critical operational procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in roles such as Systems Administrator or Network Administrator.
  • A strong inclination towards automating tasks and leading maintenance efforts.
  • Proficiency in Linux, Windows, and MacOS environments.
  • Understanding of network routing, DHCP configurations, and foundational networking concepts.
  • Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code tools, such as Salt.
  • Proficient in shell scripting (bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Experience with bare metal provisioning and imaging systems.
  • Familiarity with Dell servers and Out-Of-Band management tools.
  • Experience with Version Control Systems like Git.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Programming experience in Python, Ruby, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience with DCIM tools.
  • Knowledge of AWS services such as Fleet Manager, S3, and EC2.
