Pediatric Care Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager RN for Pediatrics plays a crucial role in overseeing a specific department or several smaller departments that deliver outpatient care services. This position involves supervising daily operations and ensuring that patient care activities are conducted efficiently. The Assistant Manager is responsible for guaranteeing that the staff provides high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective care while adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees daily operations and service delivery within the department.
- Ensures compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory requirements.
- Implements and upholds patient care standards to meet the expectations of members and internal clients.
- Acts as an advocate for patients, addressing and resolving care-related issues.
- Evaluates and recommends processes to enhance systems and patient care outcomes.
- Assists in the development and monitoring of departmental budgets and resource allocation.
- Tracks financial performance and suggests strategies for cost reduction and quality improvement.
- Determines the optimal staffing mix and oversees the recruitment, training, and competency maintenance of department staff.
- Facilitates ongoing staff development initiatives.
- Implements policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and departmental objectives.
- Collaborates with physicians and nursing leadership to optimize patient services and manage daily departmental operations.
- Assists in addressing human resource, labor relations, and risk management matters.
Qualifications:
Experience:- At least two (2) years of experience in outpatient care or relevant clinical settings.
- OR
- Two (2) years in a leadership role within a healthcare environment.
- OR
- Completion of a relevant fellowship in Health Care Administration.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Registered Nurse License (California) is required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
- Familiarity with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- Specialization in pediatric nursing is preferred.
- Leadership experience in outpatient care settings is preferred.
