Job Title: Prevention Specialist

Hope For Youth is seeking a part-time Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a Prevention Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing education, support, and tools to children, adults, families, and community stakeholders to prevent substance and alcohol use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement evidence-based prevention programs for elementary school students using the "Too Good for Drugs" curriculum.
  • Conduct community awareness events to raise awareness about alcohol and substance-related issues.
  • Collaborate with community partners to develop and implement prevention strategies.
  • Conduct surveys to identify areas of need and develop new prevention programs.
  • Develop and coordinate community events on gambling awareness, prevention, and substance awareness and prevention.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • At least one year of experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds, escort children and youth, and restrain a child or youth during a crisis.
