Procurement Specialist

At the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, we are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for analyzing payment documents, processing payments, and ensuring that sufficient funding is available to process payments in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and six months of satisfactory full-time professional experience in procurement of goods, services, construction or construction-related services, or professional, technical or administrative experience in contract negotiation/management.
Responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing payment documents to review calculations of items being invoiced, processing payments using funds allocated for specific goods or services, and ensuring that sufficient funding is available to process payments in a timely manner.
- Ensuring payment information is entered into the Small Procurement Automated Contract Tracking (sPACT) System Database in a timely manner, ensuring information is maintained and free of errors and/or missing information.
- Creating analytical reports and working with vendors to rectify any discrepancies.
- Ensuring payment vouchers are prepared, corrected and accepted in a timely manner.
- Maintaining the voucher files and assisting with archiving requests.
