Position Summary:


In the role of Lead Condensed Matter Physicist, the individual will be instrumental in advancing sophisticated quantum and condensed matter technologies aimed at enhancing precision in sensing, detection, timing, and measurement systems.


The selected candidate will engage in quantum solid-state sensing and detection, tasked with the conception, design, modeling, testing, and characterization of innovative techniques utilizing room-temperature condensed matter structures to surpass traditional detection methods.


A profound understanding and experience in optics, electromagnetics, materials science, devices, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, and/or acoustics is essential.

Experience in theoretical, simulation, and experimental methodologies is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
A Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or a related field is required.

A minimum of 15 years of experience in condensed matter physics or a closely aligned discipline is essential.

Proven expertise in quantum solid-state systems and sensing (including theory, modeling, simulation, experimentation, and/or implementation and testing) is required.

A strong foundation in condensed matter theory, with the capability to capture, comprehend, and model physical phenomena, is necessary.

Excellent knowledge of low-dimensional structures and collective and emergent phenomena is expected.

Proficiency in computational environments such as MATLAB, Python, Mathematica, or similar is required.

The candidate must be highly self-driven and thrive in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Willingness and capability to support and lead business development efforts, including writing proposals, white papers, and technical documentation, is essential.

A proven track record of securing external funding is necessary.

Ability to deliver technical presentations to both internal teams and external stakeholders is required.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information to non-technical audiences, are essential.

Experience in leading projects is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with simulation and computational software is highly desirable.

Hands-on experience conducting laboratory experiments and evaluating prototypes is preferred.

Additional Information:


Selected applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, necessitating proof of U.S. citizenship.
