Condensed Matter Physicist

As a Principal Condensed Matter Physicist, you will play a critical role in the development of advanced quantum- and condensed matter-based platforms for highly precise sensing, detection, timing, and measurement systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Conceive, design, model, test, and characterize novel methods for using room-temperature condensed matter structures to outperform conventional detectors.
- Work on quantum solid-state sensing and detection, leveraging expertise in optics, electromagnetics, materials, devices, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, and/or acoustics.
- Develop and implement advanced condensed matter theory and simulation techniques to capture, understand, and model physical phenomena.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and test novel measurement systems and devices.
- Lead business development efforts, write proposals, white papers, and technical documents to secure external funding and support business growth.
- Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in condensed matter physics or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in quantum solid-state systems and sensing (theory, modeling, simulation, experiment, and/or implementation and testing).
- Strong background in condensed matter theory, along with the ability to capture, understand, and model physical phenomena.
- Excellent understanding of low-dimensional structures and collective and emergent phenomena.
- Strong competency in a computing environment such as MATLAB, Python, Mathematica, or similar.
- Ability and willingness to support and lead business development, write proposals, white papers, and technical documents.
- Track record of successful external funding capture.
- Ability to deliver technical presentations to internal groups and external sponsors.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to brief non-technical audiences.
- Experience leading projects.
- Experience with simulation and computation software.
- Experience performing laboratory experiments and evaluating prototypes.
