Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Supervisor to join our team at Big Sandy Health Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our laboratory, ensuring the highest quality of patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable test results, maintaining records of patient test results and quality control activities.
  • Adhere to laboratory quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.
  • Identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
  • Ensure test results and other patient-specific data are accurately and reliably sent from point of data entry to final report destination.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of electronic protected health information.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and ensure that all supplies are viable before use in patient testing.
  • Follow all safety procedures outlined in the Laboratory Safety Manual and OSHA regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution.
  • ASCP certification.
Work Environment

Work is performed in a typical interior medical office setting.

Physical Requirements

Minimal physical effort is required. However, job may involve standing or walking for extended periods of time.
