Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lab Supervisor to join our team at Big Sandy Health Care. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and reliable testing of patient specimens, maintaining quality control and quality assurance processes, and adhering to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Perform test analyses, reporting, and record-keeping in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient test results, quality control activities, and instrument calibrations.
  • Identify and correct problems that may affect test performance or reporting of test results.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise laboratory staff and ensure they are performing their duties as assigned.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of electronic protected health information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Laboratory Services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution.
  • ASCP certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
Work Environment

This position is performed in a typical interior medical office setting. Minimal physical effort is required, but may involve standing or walking for extended periods of time.
