About the Role

The Orchards of Michigan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior MDS Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, clinical authorizations, and reimbursement category assignments for residents under managed care or insurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct resident interviews and assessments, including MDS and CAA, to ensure accurate and complete assessment processes.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement plans of care that reflect the needs of residents.
  • Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders, including family members, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  • Provide education and leadership to interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage timelines and ensure timely completion of assessments and authorizations.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to support multiple facilities as needed.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of one year of experience in a skilled nursing/long-term care facility.
  • Knowledge of PDPM and RAI processes strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Case Management and/or working with insurance companies preferred.
  • High degree of personal accountability, responsibility, and ability to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
