Physician - Hematology/Oncology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hematology/Oncology Physician to join our team at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with various medical conditions, utilizing appropriate diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Coordinate discharge planning with case management to ensure seamless patient care.
- Recommend and participate in efforts to improve cost-effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians and act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician as needed.
- Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
- Provide accurate documentation that meets insurance company requirements and appeal denials in a timely manner.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultations for specialty, including rotational on-call schedules.
Ascension St. John Hospital is a regional referral teaching hospital founded in 1952. We provide comprehensive accredited training to over 200 resident physicians, 30 fellows, and 56 core medical students. Our hospital is a Level I Trauma Center with a Chest Pain Center and Heart Failure Center accreditation, as well as a Certified Stroke Center with advanced certification by the Joint Commission.

Requirements- Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine.
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) is preferred.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program and Hematology/Oncology fellowship program is preferred.
- BC Internal Medicine and BE/BC Hematology/Oncology is preferred.
