New Haven, Connecticut, United States Avelo Airlines, Inc. Full time
Job Overview

This role is essential for our Dual-City Operation in Connecticut. Candidates must be prepared to operate from both HVN (New Haven) and BDL (Hartford) airports, and should reside or be willing to relocate within a 2-hour drive of these locations.

Avelo Airlines is on the lookout for enthusiastic and driven Flight Attendants who are eager to become part of a dedicated team focused on safety and customer service. As a new airline, we prioritize value and affordability, inspiring travel within the communities we serve. Become a vital member of our One Crew team, delivering exceptional customer experiences that our passengers can rely on.

Key Responsibilities

SAFETY:

  • Ensure the safety, security, and comfort of all passengers and fellow crew members.
  • Effectively respond to a variety of in-flight emergencies.
  • Contribute to the seamless operation of all flights and schedules.
  • Complete necessary incident and safety reporting promptly.

INFLIGHT STANDARDS:

  • Foster a welcoming customer experience throughout the flight, serving as a representative of the Avelo brand.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer inquiries onboard, providing innovative solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and operational procedures.
  • Participate in all required training and uphold qualifications as directed by Inflight Leadership.
  • Stay informed on all relevant company materials, ensuring that all resources are current and accessible.

CUSTOMER AND CREW LEADERSHIP:

  • Enhance customer loyalty by collaborating effectively with all operational crew members and Avelo leadership.
  • Engage with each customer as an individual, demonstrating kindness and respect.
  • Support Avelo's onboard service and revenue initiatives.
  • Serve as an ambassador for customer service, marketing, and public relations.
Requirements

It is highly recommended that candidates reside near their base, as our service consists of local day trips with no overnight stays, making commuting challenging. Candidates must be able to reach the airport within two hours. However, please note that flight assignments may require travel outside the base for several days based on operational needs.

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to report to the assigned location within 2 hours.
  • Successful completion of all Avelo Flight Attendant training requirements.
  • Willingness to accept and relocate to a base assignment at the candidate's expense after training.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule with variable hours, including long duty days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to Avelo Inflight uniform guidelines.
  • Compliance with all DOT, FAA, and Avelo Airlines regulations regarding drug and alcohol policies.
  • Willingness to serve all types of food and beverages, including alcoholic options.
  • Maintain a current contact number and address with the company.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. passport (or foreign passport with applicable VISAs) with at least six months of validity remaining.
  • Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to perform all duties outlined in the Avelo Inflight Services Manual and as assigned by the flight Captain or Avelo leadership.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
  • Vision must be at least 20/40 with corrective lenses.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds from ground to waist.
  • Ability to navigate the aircraft aisle without disturbing seated customers.
  • Must be able to secure oneself in a jumpseat with all restraints fastened.
  • Maintain balance while walking and standing during flight.
  • Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Push or pull aircraft doors/exits or service carts with up to 100 lbs of force.
  • Assist customers during evacuations as needed.
Compensation
  • First-year pay: $28 per hour.
  • 75-hour minimum monthly guarantee.
  • Lead pay: $2.00 additional when serving in the lead position.
  • Per Diem: $2.25 per hour while on duty at the airport or in-flight.
  • Premium pay as applicable.
  • Holiday pay for designated company holidays.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. Duties and responsibilities may evolve based on operational needs.
